On Monday's news, we told you about the early-morning discovery of a body in Xaibe Village, Corozal. That victim was 44-year-old Feliciano Cristino Tzul, a resident of that community, and tonight, police are treating this case as a murder investigation.
When Tzul's body was first discovered early that Monday morning, police saw no obvious signs of violence which clearly suggested foul-play. Well, yesterday, Dr. Extradabran conducted a post-mortem on Tzul's body and certified the cause of death to be acute lung failure due to multiple blunt force trauma of the chest and abdomen.
Initial investigation revealed that at around 8 last Sunday morning, he and other companions were drinking, and about an hour later, they went to the community center to shelter from the rain.
His friends left him in that area at around 4 p.m. that day, and he was reportedly drunk. When one of those friends went back to the location at 6 the following day, he was found motionless, and that's when police were called in.
