There was a fire last night in the Belama Phase 4 area of Belize City, which gutted a wooden home in that neighborhood.

At around 7:30 police visited the scene of the ongoing blaze at #176 Green Street in Belama Phase 4. When they arrived, they found a plywood house with zinc roofing, which was elevated about 4 feet off the ground. The structure was already engulfed in flames, and firefighters tried to put it out as quickly as possible. No one was hurt, but unfortunately, the house and all its contents were completed destroyed.

One neighbor reported to police that the last occupants of the house had vacated it about 3 months ago.
