On Monday's news, we told you about the hospitalization of 27-year-old Joel Aguilar, a resident of Mahogany Street Extension in Belize City.

He went missing last Thursday, and after his family spent 2 days worried about his wellbeing, they found him last weekend at the KHMH being treated as a "John Doe" for severe head injuries.

His health took a turn for the worst on Monday, and that's when the doctors declared him brain dead. We are told that he was taken off life support, and he passed away yesterday.

His grieving mother agreed to grant us an off-camera interview, and she expressed frustration that her family has been provided with very little information from the police and the doctors who treated him. Here's what she told us:

Daniel Ortiz
"Tell us about his personality, I can see that you're hurting for his loss."

Voice of Mother of the Deceased
"Yes, we don't really go out every day, we go out and back again like half an hour just go and buy something in the shop. He's right back again in his house, he doesn't go anywhere, I don't know if he goes with somebody else, but I don't know, only God knows. I am not behind my son, but I can't say my son is perfect, nobody is perfect, but I don't know. He left from here 5:30, he didn't come back again. I give him chance two days, one day but he didn't show up, I went to work Saturday, I came back to work Saturday evening, he didn't show up, I ask his common law if he done reach home, she said no, so my brother said we have to go make a report. I gone check all about police, all about, the police didn't give me no information and no report. So what kind of police is that? They just go dump a human in the hospital and no report? But the one who kill him, good thank you too, God bless you, I don't if your mom or your pa will sit down and talk to you. If you want you can go eat my son in the morgue right now, go eat him if you're hungry, I know you eat BBQ everyday but not my son."

Aguilar leaves behind a common-law wife and 4 children; the eldest is 11-years old and the youngest is 2.
