And, if the COMPOL thinks being killed for wearing the wrong color is, in his words, "ludicrous" what would he say of a killer carrying out a murder where he knew it might be recorded by surveillance cameras?

It might just be the newest trend on the street: murder for glory, the plus on the A grade of an initiation rite. It's a frightening possibility but that's the conclusion of the man Dwayne Gabourel called "Uncle" - here's what he told us this evening:

Jeremy Swift AKA "DJ DUTCH", Family Friend
"You're already grieving and then you have to go through seeing your family member or your loved one lying down in a pool of blood. And then you know how murder cases go in Belize, 8 or 9 years those things are going on and sometimes it's one time for the year that person goes to court maybe two everytime when the person goes to court they go back in the archives bring up those videos."

Cherisse Halsall:
"It used to be that surveillance cameras deterred crime but that's different now why is that?"

Jeremy Swift AKA "DJ DUTCH", Family Friend
"We live in an era where if one of those youths don't see cameras they won't react, they do it for a hype, a hype, everybody is chasing a clout you know and the media isn't doing anything better by publicizing these things. We have a lot of positive things that happen here everyday and everyday the news starts with murder. So it's like you give these people here a platform to show themselves rather than it's something that's looked upon and scorned they feel like oh we are doing a great thing."
