Tonight, A Police Officer is has been charged with manslaughter by negligence in the fatal road traffic accident that took the life of a 20-year-old BDF soldier and Gales Pointe Manatee Village resident, Karl Tillett.
It happened on Sunday at about 4:00 pm that's when Tillett, who was on a motorcycle, collided with the front passenger door of Officer Santiago Patt's vehicle door.
Patt had been driving his 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer on the George Price Drive, Dangriga Town, and was about to make a left turn when Tillett, who was traveling in the opposite on a motorcycle collided with his vehicle.
Patt has also been charged with causing death by careless conduct, driving without due care and attention, and failing to give way when changing direction
He was arraigned in the Dangriga Magistrate Court for those charges and granted bail.
