Cross border Bandits appear to be active again out went in the border areas. Yesterday morning at around 10:15, 29 year old Rafael Guerra, from Benque Viejo Town, was sitting in his vehicle a short distance from the Arenal Road, when a man came up and put a knife to Guerra's throat.

Another man slipped into the back seat of the vehicle and tied Guerra's hands. Guerra managed to slip away from them, but, the bandits sped off in his vehicle, which was later found crashed into a tree at the entrance of Calla Creek Road - which is a contraband crossing.

Incursions of cross border bandits looking to steal vehicles has been a chronic problem out west for some months now.
