This next story is about another cop shooting - but if you're a dog lover, this one is going to be tough to watch and you may want to take a break from watching.
A family on Sibun Street is claiming that officers barged into their yard without identifying themselves this afternoon and just started to fire gunshots, despite the young children playing.
Thankfully, the children and their parents are okay, but the family's dog, a Shepherd mix named "White Gyal", couldn't escape the barrage of bullets. Courtney Menzies went to the house today and has this story.
A family's afternoon was disrupted after the sound of gunshots rang through the air. When the smoke cleared they realized it was police officers who had stormed into their yard, guns blazing. One mother said she ran towards the shots because she knew her 2-year-old daughter was playing outside.
Voice of: Kimberly Bowen - Resident
"We were in the house, all we hear is gunshot, when we run outside the kids in the yard the play, police run up in the yard and just start, they shoot after the first dog and that one get shot and the next dog run under the house. We come out and ask them who they the look for, they don't tell we nothing, he crank his gun again and start shoot, we ask him what happened, he still no answer. When we look, he gone outside and he barricade the gate make we no go out but nobody never in here, just we and the kids that were in the yard playing and I very upset about it because we the ask them what happened, what you want? Nobody in here only we women and children. They walk in the house, grab my 16 year old son and tell him and tell them they carry he, so I grab his hand and I tell them you no the carry he no way, he's 16 and he's going to high school and then so they walk back out the house, still no give we an answer who they looking for. I feel very upset, that means the children they can't even play in the yard, if they come look for somebody, come in and ask who you the look for, they no have to the open fire."
And while the children were spared from injuries, the family's dog, "White Gyal", was shot as she tried to protect her owners.

"If they walked into the yard and ask to hold the dog, they would have hold the dog, they no even ask to hold the dog, the first police just walk in, crank his gun and point it at the dog and start shoot, the children in the yard, he no care, he just the shoot. Well I feel unsafe and I the tell you, this is my ma house and I'm not coming back here because I'm afraid, my children can't come play in this yard."
And as it turns out, the officers were looking for three young men who were out in the alley, not in the yard.
The family called a vet who said a surgery can be performed to remove the bullet, but it would be too price for the family to afford it.
The family says police were aiming at the other dog, named "Corona", but they only caught his partner "White Gial."
