And, the DPP's driver being found in the general area of this landing, echoes another incident that happened at this very same spot 11 years ago.
On November 14, 2010, a drug plane landed in almost the same spot on the Southern Highway, named Bladen. At that time, one of the persons implicated was the Governor General's driver - also a cop.
His name was Corporal Nelson Middleton, and, in an almost unbelievable twist, tonight, his son is one of the police officers detained for this latest landing.
We asked the Compol about the echoes of November, Bladen and cops carrying cocaine weigh for narcos:
Jules Vasquez
"Is there anything about November on Bladen, on Southern Highway that makes it attractive for the narcos?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I must say practically it's the same location where that one had landed and it seems like when police are deeply involved, that is their place of choice and it have similar characteristics to the 2010 one and again the outcome is similar to 2010's outcome in that we were able to make seizures and arrest, so we just need to make sure that we work the case now and try to collect as much evidence as we can to secure a conviction at the end of the day."
On a personal note, the Compol says he feels it an affront that the drug plane landed on one of Belize's major highways - and that motivated them to push harder to each the suspects. We note that Mexican aerial reconnaissance played a major part in searching out the narcos on the ground. They were moving slow - we are told - because police had intercepted one of their vehicles earlier.
