Orange Walk Police busted a man who was out during curfew hours - allegedly with cocaine in his car and cash on his person.
At around 2:30 this morning, a team of officers was patrolling in the vicinity of the Northern Regional Hospital when they spotted a green sports car and signaled the driver to stop, but he sped off. They intercepted him on Tate and Lyle Street, and ordered him out the vehicle. He was later identified as 27-year-old Henry Nunez, a resident of Liberty Avenue. When they questioned him about his reason for breaking the curfew, he said that he was on his way home. He was searched, and the officers found a large sum of money.
The officers then searched the vehicle and found 2 small bags with suspected cocaine. They also found a gram scale, which had white powdery residue on it.
The officers later determined that the sum of money they found on Nunez was $7,290, which they suspect to be the proceeds of drug sales.
