Pulling back now from that argument to the nuts and bolts of the story, there are still a few details that were filled in today.
As you heard in our top story - the narcos used a private airstrip for what eventually led to a crash landing on a foggy night.
But, it was an airstrip in active use for tourism purposes - and one that had an active security presence. The police told us that the narco took control of it shortly before the landing:

"We certainly do not have any evidence to suggest that the owners of the airstrip had agreed to them using that airstrip. As a matter of fact, what the investigation is showing is that the persons who were watchmen within that area were forced to allow them to go and use the airstrip."
