And in other news, it was in the pre-dawn hours of the morning when a two story house on Neal's Penn Road erupted into flames. The neighbors who share a yard, and even those on the opposite sides of the fences, were filled with worry as they watched the fire, mere feet away, consume the home. But the fire department responded and extinguished it before it got a chance to spread. And fortunately, there was no one living in the house so, aside from the actual building, there was little loss of property and no injuries.
But the neighbors were still shaken because sources say this is the third arson attempt happening in that home. Reports are that the owner of the home lives in the US and has been having a family dispute. The first arson attempt occurred about three weeks ago, and the family that was living in the lower flat at the time left after the verandah caught on fire. The second attempt was about half an hour before the house burnt down, when a small fire erupted on the verandah again. Those in the area were able to extinguish that one with buckets, but shortly after, the arsonist returned and his final attempt was successful in destroying the building. Police and the fire department are currently investigating.
