And while that death was likely an accident, 25-year-old Lejean Rhamdas was killed in cold blood in broad daylight on Albert Street. We told you on Friday that he was shot multiple times at a carwash, not far from where he lived. He mustered the strength to run, but it wasn't long before he collapsed. And an hour after the news on Friday, he succumbed to his injuries. Now, the police are investigating and they're confident they'll make an arrest in the near future. Courtney Menzies has this story.

25-year-old Lejean Rhamdas, also known as Casper, was hit with a barrage of bullets on Friday morning, around 10. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was treated for approximately eight hours, before he finally succumbed.

And today, his family was still in shock, especially his father, who was at the family home near the scene, and rushed over just in time to see his son being placed inside the back of a police truck.

Rhamas was shot near the "Prolific Minds and Hearts" carwash on Albert Street, and he ran all the way to Anglican Cathedral College before he fell to the ground. And that carwash is supposed to be a peace-making venture between rival gangs - but that peace was broken since the communications officer at the police department said that this murder was gang-related.

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer
"Apparently, he was at a carwash on Albert Street when his attackers, two male persons, approached him and fired several shot at him. He ran a little distance up Albert Street and collapsed. He was transported to the KHMH by police who responded not too long after the incident."

Courtney Menzies:
"Do you think he was followed? Because as he got out of the car the gunman came."

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer
"I wouldn't want to speculate, he was at the carwash when the attackers came out and did what they did."

Reporter:
"No motive so far?"

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer
"None confirmed as yet. We have several persons of interest detained and we believe that hopefully we could make an arrest very soon in this murder. Actually all indication are that it might have been gang related."

Courtney Menzies:
"But do you know If he was the intended target considering there were other people at the car wash as well?"

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer
"Well, he received the barrage of shots, I don't see who else could have been the intended target."
