Tonight, 4 fishermen from Guinea Grass Village, Orange Walk, are out on bail after being taken to court for being in possession of undersized conch.

They are Darry Flores, Adir Novelo, and brothers: Allen and Marvin Tuyub. The allegations are these men came back their most recent fishing trip with a total of 632 undersized conchs. Allegations are that they were busted with the illegal fisheries products on Monday, February 14, at the Northern Fishermen Cooperative Society Limited, which is located a North Front Street, Belize City, Belize.

The defendants were arraigned today before Magistrate Baja Shoman. Flores was read a charge for possession of 160 undersized conchs. Novelo was charged with possession of 143 undersized conchs. As for the brothers, Allen Tuyub was arraigned for 138 undersized conchs, while Marvin Tuyub was arraigned for 191 undersized conchs.

They all pleaded not guilty and were released on bail of $3,000 each. They are due back in court for an adjournment on April 14, 2022.
