Early last week Friday morning, a joint police, customs and immigration patrol on the Jalacte Road intercepted a fuel tanker coming across form he Guatemalan side.

The truck full of suspect fuel and it was impounded at the customs house in Punta Gorda. Well, tonight it is on the move to Belize City - where it will join two other tankers that were impounded in May of last year - also with suspicious fuel.

We are told that today the two men in the truck, driver and sideman - who are brothers from Cayo were arraigned on charges.

The customs department has refused an offer by the truck owner to settle and pay a fine. They are trying to determine the source of the fuel and whether it is contraband as the circumstances would seem to suggest.
