Guinea Grass Villagers is appealing to the police department to look into the new gangs that are springing up in their community. At least one of them was involved in a brutal beating over the weekend, attacking some residents in the village.
When asked, the Minister of Home Affairs said that he believes the police are doing a good job so far in the village.
Hon. Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs and New Growth Industry
"Remember I'm the minister of Home Affairs which is the police and so the police have been doing a good job out there in Guinea Grass. Obviously, there will be these new gangs that will form and again, having meetings like this is to turn the tide and to reduce the number of gang members and gang activity that there is and so we have to look at that as a police department in the first instance to make sure that we are policing the area correctly and that these people are not in any way affecting the livelihood and the lives of those residents of Guinea Grass."
