Micheal Clarke was killed by an unknown gunman, but he wasn't the only Belizean to be shot last night.
And at around 8:00, just 45 minutes before his tragic death, Belize City saw what can only be called a mass shooting on Plues Street.
It happened in front of a Ministry of Human Development homeless shelter where 29-year-old Tamara Cornejo, 30-year-old Henry Cornejo, 26-year-old Alexander Smith, and Steven Jones were socializing. But their conversation came to a terrifying halt when two men came from the direction of West Canal and started firing shots at them.
It left Tamara Cornejo shot to the left foot, Henry Cornejo shot to the right leg, Alexander Smith shot also to the right leg, and Steven Jones with a gunshot graze to his head.
And this morning when our news cameras arrived in the neighborhood the street was still blood-stained stained - after the indiscriminate attack.
Fortunately no one was seriously injured, and police say that all four were admitted to the KHMH in a stable condition.
