There's been another murder - this one happened in San Ignacio last night.
27 year old Security Guard David Edgar Gonzalez was on duty when he was attacked by a robber who wanted his gun - and the entire incident was all captured on security camera - when, in a few seconds a young life was snuffed out.
The video - which was posted on Facebook last night - went viral. But it does capture a homicide, and we have edited out the most violent elements - but, we warn you, the story still does have graphic imagery.
Here's what happened - and why it's doubly tragic:
It was a routine night for Anchor security guard David Edgar Gonzalez as he stood in position in front of Super Q Mart on Bullet tree road.
But at about 7:30, everything changed. Gonzalez, seen here smiling, is approached by someone that he may have known - judging by his reaction. That perhaps is why he's caught off-guard when the man
attempts to snatch the Anchor security issued firearm from his waist. Gonzalez retreats defensively and that's when the assailant opens fire on him.
He shoots him again, and as Gonzalez falls to the ground, and the attacker shoots him a further two times before stealing the weapon.
It's a tragedy not just because David was only 27 years old but also because he, his mother and his four siblings have known tragedy before.
His father Edgar David Gonzalez mysteriously disappeared on August 8th of 2010. He'd left the family home headed for work at BWEL gas in Belmopan but never arrived.

He was found weeks later off the Hummingbird - a postmortem determined that he had died from a fractured skull caused by a blunt blow. The killers were never found.
It's why the violent and tragic demise of this hardworking young man whom one Cayo resident has said had only begun to help his mother financially after all those years of hardship is such a devastating tragedy.
7News contacted David's mother Maria this morning but she responded saying that she needs more time to begin to cope with her son's death. She did say however that the family needs justice. The hope is that this time around they can get it.
One suspect has been detained - and we are told that indeed, see may have been familiar to David Edgar Gonzalez.
Reports tell us that Gonzalez's security firm did not have the requisite license for him to carry that weapon. We did ask the owner of Anchor Security to comment on this but he has not responded to our requests at news time.
We'll keep following this story.
