Two weeks ago we told you about domestic violence survivor Vanessa Reyes, she was nearly murdered during a public attack when her ex-partner Christon Rocha stabbed her to the temple and the chin.
Tonight, our information is that Vanessa remains in a safe house, separated from her three young children and unable to do the work that once brought her fulfilment as well as the means to support her family.
What's worse is that she will remain there indefinitely until her assailant is caught.
Unfortunately, there's been no news on that front so, this morning we asked the police what progress they've made in capturing Rocha
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Officer

"To be very honest we have a countrywide hunt for him, we keep sending the posters to our counterparts at the borderline of this country. We have conducted several searches based on tips that he was believed to be on a certain island and until now the search continues for him because this is not a case that we can take lightly. If those persons on that morning didn't intervene and stop him from carrying out what I fear would have been a fatal incident then we would have been investigating a murder, not a stabbing. We continue to appeal to the general public to assist us in locating this person. I know that we have circulated his photos in every means that we could and we will do it again today and I will continue to do it on an almost daily basis until we locate this man and bring him to justice, noh."
"We the police department, first of all, have to touch base with Interpol whenever it concerns a foreigner. In my original release, I recall saying that he's a Honduran and yes we have asked the help and yes we have asked the assistance from our neighbouring countries, and their enforcement entities and like I said if he resurfaces in Honduras I am certain that our counterparts will notify us immediately and then we will know what to do when that occurs but I am still hopeful that he is within the country of Belize and it will be an easier process if we find him and arrest him noh."
Members of the public with information that could lead to Rocha's arrest are asked to report the information to the nearest police station, call crime stoppers at 922, or use the P3 app.
