And while police in Belmopan and Corozal are investigating the murders of Daniel Castellanos and Juan Arturo Mendez, cops from Dangriga are looking for 3 men who robbed a woman in Hope Creek Village of a sack stuffed with cash. How much? Police sources say it's 130 grand!

It happened on Thursday night at 10:00 when three men dressed like police entered the home 57-year-old Esther Crispia, dressed in camouflage combat uniforms like police and carrying handguns and handcuffs. And just like the cops, they claimed that they were conducting a search of her property for firearms and illegal drugs.

The pretend police then seized upon crocus sack containing a large amount of cash in different denominations of Belize and US currencies. This morning, when we asked the police spokesperson about the case, he said that the pretenders allegedly told her that they were confiscating the money under suspicion that it was the proceeds of drug sales:

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood - Police Communications Officer
"She's a naturalized Belizean. She reported that she was at home when three men fully dressed in camouflage, wearing masks, arrived at her residence and took her to her bedroom. They claim that they were police officers and they will be conducting a search for illegal drugs and ammunition. These men went straight to a box that she kept behind her bed. They removed a blue, red, and white crocus bag in which she claimed she had a large amount of cash, in different denominations being the U.S. and Belize currency. They told her that the cash, being the proceeds of the sales of illegal drugs, would be taken to the police station. She believed them. They walked out of the house, carrying the money. She walked outside behind them, where she saw them meet up with another person who was also just in camouflage, standing next to a white F-150 pickup with Cayo license plates. All four men boarded the vehicle and drove off. This incident occurred the night before she made this report. She went to make this report a little after 11 the following day. We are looking for two persons in connection with this report from the Bullet Tree area who are known for these types of incidents. And hopefully, if we detain them, we hope they can shed some light on what occurred."
