No Confirmation of Reports Of Johan’s Death

Tonight there are concerns for the wellbeing of a mennonite from Guinea Grass, Johan Elias.

Today, a swarm of online posts and unofficial reports - including from police sources - said that he had been shot dead in Chetumal.

But we checked multiple formal sources - and there is no official report in southern Quintana Roo of his murder. The Belziean Embassy in Mexico also said it has checked and gotten no report of the killing of any Belizean in Chetumal.

Elias is well known to police. We'll keep following up on his whereabouts.
