Last night, we showed you what the police had to say about the murder in Orange Walk Town 6 days ago.

At this time, police investigators are trying to identify the gunman and his accomplice who carried out the street-style execution attempt that ended in the death of 39-year-old Reynaldo Marchand, and the hospitalization of 31-year-old Nazir Vasquez.

Today, almost a week since the incident, video surveillance footage of the entire attack was leaked, and 7News has obtained a copy. Our news team has been reviewing it, and for our next story, you may want to ask children to take a break from watching the news. Here now is a detailed breakdown from Daniel Ortiz:

Video surveillance footage has emerged which provides a detailed look at the moments before, during, and after 39-year-old Reynaldo Marchand and 31-year-old Nazir Vasquez were attacked by a gunman on a motorcycle.

In the first few seconds of the video, 2 men are seen socializing near a white SUV at the front entrance. One of them has what appears to be a drink in hand, and another person is sitting down.

In the far right of your screen, the shooting victims: Marchand and Vasquez, are separated from the rest of the group. They engage in some sort of detailed discussion when suddenly, a shooter emerges from the intersecting lane to the right in an ambush.

Viewers can see the muzzle flash of the gunman's weapon as he starts to fire bullets at the distant cousins. Vasquez seems to have been injured from the very first bullet fired by the shooter, and he takes cover, eventually running away.

Marchand isn't so fortunate, and he is injured multiple times before he even has time to react to the extreme danger. Marchand then collapses, and the assailant fires 3 or 4 more bullets at him while on the ground. The gunman then darts back to meet up with his getaway motorcycle driver.

By the time the shooting stops, the two men to the left become 4, after 2 more people emerge from inside 501 Shop.

In the immediate aftermath of this ruthless attack, Orange Walk Police felt it necessary to secure the Northern Regional Hospital.

"To prevent any further fatality, we went into what you refer to as emergency defense mode, but the bottom line is to prevent retaliation. We know that a shooting of this nature, and like you rightfully put it, based on who the victim was, We believe that he would have some form of retaliation."

For 6 days now, the cops have been hard at work as they try to identify and detain the gunman and his accomplice.

"We have since searched several homes, and we are still trying to identify these two persons. And hopefully, with the assistance of the general public, we will be able to identify and detain. We are currently trying to establish a motive."

The investigators believe that we know enough to try to meet some form of apprehension if these assailants are found.

The footage leaked out yesterday - it was captured - reportedly by a security camera in front of the DPP's office across the street.
