Among other things, the scooter features an eco-friendly design. It is powered by a 100% electric motor and rechargeable battery, which means no fossil fuels, and no emissions.

SHARON MATOLA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

As you may recall, Sharon Matola, the Founding Director of the Belize Zoo and the Tropical Education Center, passed away in March of last year.

Matola was a celebrated wildlife conservationist who helped shape the Zoo's program of turning rescued animals placed in their care into ambassadors for their species. For more than 36 years, Matola educated thousands of Belizean children at the Zoo. Today, the Human Development Minister informed the House of Representatives that the Zoo and the Tropical Education Education Center are about to become part of the new Sharon Matola Wildlife Sanctuary.

In order to make that happen, the Zoo will have to get full access to a parcel of land that was gifted to the organization some years ago. Here's how Dolores Balderamos-Garcia briefly discussed the history of that property:

Don Pepe's Mashup

And while Balderamos Garcia was in the House of Representatives - this evening her husband Pepe Garcia was in an accident on the Phillip Goldson Highway.

No one was seriously hurt when Garcia rear ended a bus he was allegedly trying to overtake in a RAV 4. It happened in front of Go Wireless.

He Stole 12k And A Vehicle

And, finally tonight - a woman was robbed of 12 thousand dollars in cash by someone she trusted. Police say that yesterday at about 4:00 p.m., Sheree Bateman, a 35-year-old, Belizean Businesswoman of Santa Elena, Cayo was returning from Belmopan to San Ignacio in a Mitsubishi Outlander. A family friend known to her as Jonathan Cruz Bahadur was driving but he suddenly diverted into a feeder road in the Bradley's Bank area. When she asked him why he diverted, he replied "for shortcut." Allegedly, Bahadur then instructed Bateman to open a bag that contained $12,000 in cash which belonging to her brother.

Bateman refused and subsequently Bahadur physically assaulted her. Bateman further stated that whilst Bahadur was driving on Luma Luz Boulevard, she jumped from the moving vehicle; as a result, she received various degrees of injuries to her body.

Jonathan Cruz Bahadur made off with the White 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander, and $12,000 in cash. Police recovered the vehicle on Bishop Martin Street. The Person wanted Jonathan Cruz Bahadur. Police are investigating.
