And a part of that neutralizing strategy will be built on re-deployment of key personnel in high profile crime areas. It means the long time head of Eastern Division CIB, Superintendent Alejandro Cowo will be leaving that office, and Senior Superintendent Chris Noble will be leaving San Pedro after unmatched crime suppression success in that tourist hub.
The Compol discussed the law enforcement logic of their new assignments:
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Mr. Cowo is a superintendent and Mr. Cowo will be moving on to be division 4 commander, so he's going to take over from Mr. Noble in the coastal areas and then Mr. Noble uis going to become one of the deputies in eastern division. So, again we are trying to see how we can put our people in places where we can get better results. I think that Christopher Noble has done a tremendous job in San Pedro restoring confidence within the department in San Pedro and I think that his expertise and his people-type personality will greatly enhance our efforts in Belize City and so he is now being brought in to take up the role of the second deputy in eastern division and I do anticipate that Mr. Cowo with his wealth of experience in investigation will continue to make sure that the coastal areas remain as is. Its an opportunity for him to be able to broaden his horizon. We don't want to have our officers only being able to fire on one cylinder, only know investigation and do not know the administrative aspect of policing and so he's been put out there to broaden his knowledge and broaden his horizon and with the hope that he can be elevated later on down the road,"
Jules Vasquez
"He's also being moved because there were personality differences as often happens with his commander."
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I don't think so. It is not his commander who made that request. I am the one who made that call and I spoke to Mr Cowo and Mr. Noble before I made the call and both gentlemen are happy to move on."
