Tonight, police are on high alert in Belize City - after a former leader of a city gang was gunned down and left for dead in a drain in the Martin's area.
It happened around fifteen minutes to 5:00 - when Darren Banks was near a popular Shop on Partridge Street. That's when he came under fire and ended up dead in the drain.
And then minutes after he was shot - another man was shot further down on the same street. He was rushed to the hospital and is reportedly in critical condition at this hour.
Banks was formerly known and feared as the leader of the PIV - but in 2012, he started showing signs of worsening mental illness while on remand for drug trafficking in prison. Since then he was released from jail, and has stepped back from the gang life.
More on this story tomorrow.
