And on Sunday between miles 43 and 44 on the George Price Highway, there was another road traffic accident, this time involving two trucks. This accident took the life of 27-year-old Samuel Pop, and five others were injured in the aftermath. The police explained more about how it happened:

"On Sunday 7th August, 2022 police visited Cotten Tree Village between miles 43 and 44 where they saw a red in color Toyota pickup which was driver at the time by Geronimo Bol who was travelling in the direction from Belize City to Belmopan and also police saw another Toyota pickup black in color which was driver by one Max Samuels which was travelling in the opposite direction where Max Samuels was seen with various head and body injuries and succumbed at the scene."
