66-year-old Marie Lemothe is homeless tonight after her Ladyville home was allegedly set on fire by her ex-boyfriend.

It's a fire in which Marie lost everything, just managing to escape with the clothes on her back.

Tonight, she finds herself relying on the kindness of neighbours. Her daughter Gabriela says that are putting their faith in God and hoping that some good fortune can come their way after a tragedy.

"I wasn't there when it happened. But my mom had a great loss, everybody loses everything. The only thing they could have saved was their lives and their clothes that had on. Everything got burnt."

"Is it your belief that this was arson?"

Voice of: Gabriella Lamotte, Daughter of Fire Victim
"Yes, its arson. My mom told me that her ex set the house. He had already threatened her that he would set the house on fire."

"I don't have anything to tell that person. God is watching and God will see what he will do with him."

"For right now the neighbour and NEMO is trying to help her out and lend her a house for the meanwhile across from where she lives. NEMO is helping her with mattress and little stuff to get together. But if anybody else could come in and give something like groceries, because she lost everything. It's really sad, but I'm a person that believe in God and to me the most important thing is that my mom and my family is safe."

The family is asking for groceries or any kind of help - and to do so, you can call 629-6523.
