A dangerous MS 13 gang member from El Salvador was caught in Belize and sent back to his country.
7News has been following the story since last Monday when we learned that Eric Alberto Lucero was intercepted by authorities in Belize. An observant law enforcement officer spotted his distinctive and sinister tattoos, and decided to put his name in a law enforcement database. That's when they found out he was wanted in El Salvador.
It took a few days, but police liaised with their Salvadorean counterparts and handed him over at the western border last week Thursday. Tweets from Salvador's police say that Lucero is known as "Rockero" is, quote, "an MS 13 terrorist," and that he is held in custody awaiting trail. They say that he could face up to 30 years in prison.
