Last Friday, Cabinet met and one of the most important issues discussed was the damages to road infrastructure caused by the recent tropical wave that passed over Belize between the 17th and 18th of August.

The incessant rains led to significant flooding which in turn caused culverts to give way at different locations on major highways. Primary feeder roads were also affected, and the Ministry of Infrastructure says the damage will cost millions of dollars. And that's why the Cabinet has given its support for a supplemental appropriation of 12 million dollars to be presented in the House of Representatives on Wednesday to cover the cost of the emergency repairs. Now, how does one rainy cost 12 million dollars in repairs? Tune in on Wednesday to hear the debate on it.
