We know him as the dancing mayor - but the Mayor of Benque Viejo, Jorge Antonio Rosales is in the news tonight, after an incident of domestic violence that occurred at his home over the weekend.
Initial allegations were that the Mayor had pulled a weapon during an incident, but we put that question to the commissioner this morning and here's what he said.
Chester Williams, Commissioner Of Police
"No, I'm not aware of that. I know that yes there was a domestic issue between the mayor and his wife or whatever and that matter got the intervention of the police. The lady did not request any court action, but in terms of a weapon being drawn, no, I'm not aware of that, no."
We reached out to Mayor Rosales for comment this evening but he declined to provide any statement.
