Wanted Salvadorean Found in Belize

Tonight a wanted Salvadoran is facing deportation after he was found in Belize. 26-year-old Yovany Alexander Sandoval Martinez was caught back in March of this year in the Orange Walk District by the police. They handed him over to the Immigration Department and after they checked his status, they discovered that he is wanted in El Salvador for the rape of a minor. For the past six months, he has been on remand.

Today in court, the magistrate granted the Immigration Department a removal order. Martinez is expected to be sent back to El Salvador at the end of this week where he will be facing charges for the rape.
