A resident of St Thomas Street in Belize City was the victim of a broad daylight home invasion on Sunday. Brassil Gordon told police that at 1:30 in the afternoon, he was inside his house at #5522 Saint Thomas Street along with 3 others, when 3 men stormed in. One of them carried a gun and demanded money and stole their personal items - a total haul valued at over $5,000 dollars.The robbers then left in a waiting taxi. Police responded and got information of the getaway vehicle driving into the Mayflower street area across town. They responded and found their main suspect Stephen Flowers in front of a nearby gas station on Vernon Street.
The 29 year old from an apartment in Majestic Alley appeared in court today charged with aggravated burglary. Flowers, who is well known to police, was unrepresented when he appeared before a Senior Magistrate in Court #2 where he was read a single charge of aggravated burglary. He pleaded not guilty and due to the nature of the offense was denied bail and remanded until November 25, 2022.
Police are still looking for his accomplices.
