And from Collet Constituents to Cuban Nationals, two sets of illegal Cuban immigrants have been intercepted in Belize over the last week.

The most recent happened around 6:00 this morning, when 27 of them - 13 women, 11 men, and 3 kids - were caught by MIT officers in Benque Viejo Del Carmen, near the border, hidden in the jungle. Two Belizeans and a Guatemalan were also picked up with them - they are presumably the coyotes or smugglers. They were all handed over to the Immigration Department for processing and charges.

And then on September 16th, 17 other Cubans were caught, again by MIT officers, near mile 6 on the El Pillar Road. While the team was stationed in the area, they heard the sound of handheld radios coming from a picado road that leads into Guatemala. The group of Cubans, consisting of men, women, and children, were being escorted by two Hispanic men, both of whom held the radios. That group included three children, aged 4, 6 and 8, and 14 adults.

The officers apprehended the Cubans and handed them over to Immigration officials at the Western border.
