Last night we told you about Junior the family dog from Mahogany street who was shot in the head when he bit a policeman who came charging into the yard.
Junior's death devastated his owners including at least two children who were at school when their beloved pitbull was killed. Since then there's been an outcry on social media against this act of animal cruelty inflicted by the police with an outraged public crying for justice for Junior.
And last night police communication officer ASP Fitzroy himself got into the comments to provide an update on the status of the investigation into wrongdoing on the part of the officer. He said quote: " I must inform the public that an official complaint was filed earlier today at the Professional Standards Branch earlier today at the Racoon Street Police Station. The investigation has already been launched into the shooting death of Ms Logan's dog and I will update the public as the investigators update my office." end quote.
We'll keep following up.
