He stood convicted of raping a child - and when the judge saw that Fitzharris Howard showed no remorse - he sentenced him to 25 years in jail for it.

Howard, who is 41, was convicted of raping a 15 year old - must now serve 15 years before he is eligible for parole, according to Justice Ricardo Sandcroft.

Sandcroft - who had recently sentenced a man to life behind bars for another rape - agreed with the prosecution that Howard has shown no remorse for his action. This after Howard remained silent at mitigation today. He has maintained before that he gave the 15 year old a ride, but did not violate her. She claimed that in January of 2018, he took her to an area of Chetumal Boulevard where he did rape her.

His sentence today is to take effect from June 8, 2022 when he was first convicted, leaving him with 24 years 8 months behind bars. Howard's attorney, Oscar Selgado asked the judge to consider the minimum of 12 years but Howard got double that time.
