For years, Marlyn Vansen has been known in Belize as a bonafide star with maximum upside, producing polished songs and music videos that are on an international level. She is the total package as a performer - a singer, a dancer, and a stage presence.
But, that was all before she was diagnosed with the degenerative neurological disease, multiple sclerosis in January. Since then she's been battling an unseen and previously unimaginable enemy. Today she appeared on Sunup for the first time since her diagnosis to demonstrate that she's battling with courage.
She's launched a new song and video called "Like A Movie" - in which she sings about her pain, and her wish that this difficult episode can have a happy ending, like a movie. She told our Sunup hosts that the pain and the struggle are real, but so is the determination:
