Last night we told you about shots fired in the downtown area of Belize City in an afternoon robbery. Today, the details of the armed assault are known.

At around 3:000 a man wearing a fisherman's mask went riding up Orange Street against the flow of traffic. He hopped off the bike in front of Cosmetic Corner Store, pulled out a large pistol from his was it and told the security Gard - who was at the door - to lie on the ground. It pierced the afternoon air with loud bangs, causing pedestrians and school children on their way home to dash for cover. Police found three.45 expended shells on the scene. The suspect escaped unto West Street and no arrests have been made.
