And while Hinds met that all too sudden end, another family is fearing for the wellbeing of their brother and son after he went missing on Christmas Day.
He's 27-year-old Akeem Augustine also known as 'Cummins', a man who sometime last year ended up shot to the mouth in Hopkins village.
He survived that attempt on his life, but tonight family members including his child's mother believe he may not have been so lucky over the holiday weekend.
His last contact with his family was on Christmas Day at 5:21 in the evening. He told them he was in the Jane Usher area and they haven't heard from him since.
Tonight Akeem is officially a missing person, and with rumours of his death spreading, his family's fears are only intensifying as the hours go by. Cherisse Halsall spoke to his sister-in-law just before news time.

"It was actually Christmas Day, the morning we were at home and he was always clowning himself and talking to us and he just said, sis I'm going out so. And so I asked where are you going?, and so he said he was going to a friend and I'm like okay which area? And then he was like well sis it's just boring here. I just want to go out so. And so I said to be safe and thing because he was going to an area where he doesn't usually go. So, I was like what are you going to do there and then he was like it's just a party for all of his friends and that he would come home so I was like alright then, cool."
"My sister and my nephew, they went out and he went and so bam my sister came home around 9:00 and asked me if her boyfriend had already come home and I was like no. So, we got news that he was killed but we are not sure so we don't want to falsify anything but she is calling, texting, calling texting and nothing so his sister contacted my sister and told her that is what she heard.So, we told her don't think like that and they are still calling and texting, calling and texting and anonymously someone called in and said that he is at 8 miles and we aren't sure if anyone has gone to look for him as yet but that is what we are hearing."
"He was shot, he had recently been shot to the mouth in Hopkins --last year in November in Hopkins."

"So far I know that his sister and his mom already filed a missing report so by now, yes ma'am."
Augustine has one young son.
He is employed by the Leadership Intervention Unit cleaning up streets in Belize City.
Anyone knowing his whereabouts is asked to call the police.
