Huge Swells Off San Pedro Cause Barge To Sink

On Friday night, a cargo barge heading to San Pedro Town sank near "Siete Canales", which is an area close to the island town, but inside the reef. As this video shows there were heavy swells produced by northerly winds but all members of the crew were safe, after swimming to a rescue boat for safety in stinging rains. The coast guard marked the area where it happened as a navigation hazard during the heavy winds.
