Tonight, 5 days after the double murder of Jon and David Ramnarace, rumours continue to swirl in Belmopan about the motive behind what had all the elements of a hit.
Many of them point to what the brothers did or didn't know about the murder of Micheal Williams which occurred two days earlier in the same area.
Well, we put those rumours up for the commissioner's consideration this evening and in a late afternoon interview with Jules Vasquez, he completely shut them down.

"The rumour and the report is extremely persistent in Belmopan and in other quarters as well that the Michael Williams murder yes, um, some narco element may have been involved in drug peddling or something but this double murder was inextricably linked to that because of some perceived, perhaps, element that these people could have been witnesses, or their security cameras, or something like that. I'm sure you continue to hear these reports."

"Yes, I continue to hear them and again, I would say to the public that the information is not true. As a matter of fact during the investigation of Michael Williams's murder the police didn't even go to the Ramnarace's residence because they don't live that close by. It's quite a distance away and so there was no need for the police to have gone there to interview them in respect thereof. And so the information that is out there in the public domain is not true."
