And turning back now to the case that has dominated the headlines for the better part of the week, the trial against Corporal Kareem Martinez for the manslaughter of 14-year-old Laddie Gillett, closed today 7 full days of hearings.
And rounding out the witnesses were two more police officers, who, back in July of 2021, made up part of the Placencia formation

The trial against Kareem Martinez for the manslaughter of Laddie Gillett closed today after two final witnesses took the stand.
Those last two witnesses, the diarist from the Placencia police station on the night in question and the driver of the police mobile, both gave specified timelines that the court felt needed to be challenged.
And interestingly, the driver of the mobile - who was returning to the stand - received more than a strong hint from the judge. Following his testimony, she advised him to read the sections of the criminal code that concern perjury.
