Yesterday, we took you to Simon Lamb Street, in the Kings Park area, where a massive fire gutted a home, damaged two others, and destroyed three cars. St Joseph Primary School, which was across the street, had to be evacuated as the firefighters tackled the giant blaze. And when the fire department started their investigation, they learnt it was one of the tenants living downstairs that caused 11 people to be left homeless.

Today, the police said that, once the fire report is submitted, that tenant could be facing charges.

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Police Press Officer
"I know that our investigators are saying that they're not getting full cooperation of the owners of the vehicles that were destroyed in the fire, one. We are waiting for the fire report to say exactly what caused that fire."

Courtney Menzies:
"Yesterday the station supervisor, he said that so far the investigation is showing that one of the tenants accidentally lit the fire, based on something he was doing, in a case like that, does that person, even though it's accidental, can they still be charged for lighting that fire?"

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Police Press Officer
"Well, as recent as last week I believe we had a similar incident where a man lit some bush fire in the Tropical Park area in Hattieville and we have seen that he was charged for arson. Of course, if the fire investigation deem that that person is at fault for causing this fire, we are expecting charges to be levied against that person also."
