Bernardez Was Beaten, Not Shot

Last night we told you about the murder of 35 year old Russell Bernardez. Just after 6:00 am, someone dumped his body in the Lord Ridge Cemetery. Police said that he had apparent gunshot injuries to the head.

But, it turns out, he wasn't killed by gunfire; it was blunt force trauma. A post mortem has certified the cause of death as acute traumatic injuries, consistent with blunt force trauma to the head.

So far, no one has been detained.
