At the start of the year, we told you about three men from Belize City who'd gone missing more or less around the same time: Chris Sosa, Akeem Augustine, and Kyle Latchman.

Augustine's remains have since been found in the area off Jane her Boulevard, and, as for Kyle Latchman, police said they believed he'd left the country for the U.S - where he is a citizen.

But that's a rumour that Kyle Latchman's mother Shannon says never made any sense. 2 months after his disappearance, she finally made it to Belize to join in the search for her son's body.

Today she sat down with 7News to speak on the circumstances surrounding his disappearance, and we asked her what she believes about Kyle and the other two men, whether they were all taken out systematically or even by the same person. Here's what she told us:

Shannon Latchman, Kyle Latchman's Mom
"I don't know, I can't say yes or no, um, so I. Get like when I think about it for myself or my children and my family and now that I know so much it's been happening for a long time, it is unfortunate that it knocked on my door. So, um, from the time this happened, I am able to at least contain how I feel and everything else knowing that I left it in the hands of the law because that is what I know best, and I continued with whatever and I made it when I could have made it."

"One thing for sure and two things for certain I can't swear for him, but this is just odd, this is just not him and I continue, I've checked into everything that people say and you know you listen because like I said I can't swear for him, you know, so I think about the things them but I know one thing he would never do, he would have never, not touched base. If it wasn't even me it would have been older sister because he knows, this morning we were joking and I'm saying all like right now it's western Union morning, you could see him stand up by Doony's and waiting right there, you know stuff like that because we take care of him. I mean he gets his barrel and not only that his aunts do things you know, so it's like and then once I start thinking about that from then until now, I feel for mothers now, you know, like who answers what who sys what you will never know."
