And his mother also said that not long before he went missing, he lost his passport. She said he wasn't even able to pick up money since he used that as his ID. She added that when there were rumors that he might have gone to the US, she knew they couldn't be true.

"Well, they knew that he was an American because his nickname was Yankee, you know, so they knew, and I think that was something to throw us off because as I sit and I start like putting pieces of the puzzle together it didn't make sense. Why? Because prior to that, a week before Kyle had lost his passport, just no, out of nowhere he lost his passport. I sent him his money for Christmas and he couldn't even go get it."
"He rode home with it in his pocket so in his head he's like it must have fallen out when I rode home, nothing never go so. My son turned his back from his apartment and someone stole his passport, and then that was just up in the air."
"When they started the rumour about him travelling or whatever I didn't believe it at all and I just thought that was a piece of the thing so that people wouldn't make noise, you know for people not to say anything because he's an American, you know, so he is passport went missing the week before."
