We also asked the Minister about the situation at St Mary's School in Belize City - which had to make a difficult move early in the school year when their existing school building was exposed as dangerously unstable.

Since then the school has been using improvised structures, but it's not going so well. Here's an update:

Francis Fonseca, Minister of Education

"I just had a meeting last week or maybe earlier this week. I've lost track. With the manager and the principal, really the situation where they are on the southside of Belize City - that's not working out, so we're trying to get some part time sort of intermediate facilities for them that we'll put on the tennis court at St. Mary's. That seems to be the best solution at this time. So there is of course the bigger solution which we are working on with them which is a SIF project to build a new building for them, but will take some time. But we have been engaged with them and we are working with them to try to improve the situation, but where they are right now is not working out at all. That has not worked out for them."
