And, this afternoon we caught up with attorney Elrington who had returned to his office after the unexpected downtime.
He gave a re-cap of his time as Jared Ranguy's attorney and went over the finer points of the sentence indication in which his then-client rejected his strategy.
OJ Elrington, Attorney-At-Law

"The judge on Monday, therefore, offered Mr Ranguy offered Mr Ranguy what it is they would likely sentence him if he were to plead guilty and not proceed to trial, to full trial I should say as we were in the trial, we are already in trial. And, said that he was to respond by today. We, after that I had a follow-up meeting with Mr. Ranguy which would have been on Tuesday afternoon at which point he relayed to me that he had considered the matter and that after careful consideration, he would continue to maintain his not-guilty plea, so he would not be pleading guilty and accepting the terms of the, that was given in the sentence indication hearing which could have been brought down by pleas."
Elrington clarified that he doesn't advise on how to plea, instead, he tells them, based on the evidence presented to the court and other relevant factors, the likelihood of success in the course that they plan to take.
