A BDF soldier was killed in a hit and run accident last night. It happened between miles 10 and 11 on the Phillip Goldson Highway when a driver saw 38 year old Hector Cho's body lying motionless on he highway. He stopped to renders aid, and that's when he saw a second vehicle also run over the soldier's body and drag it for about 50 feet. That vehicle also sped off.

For his family in San Ignacio, it is an unbelievable event - and his sister told the Pandy Show that she could not believe the news when she got the call last night.

Deborah Trapp, Sister of Deceased
"I said no this can't be, my brother is at work and then the commander said that it is confirmed that it is my brother. They gave us their condolences, condolences which I never wanted to accept, but I am coping with it little bit by bit. They say it is a hit and run. Whosoever did this to my brother, we are very devastated and we have a lot of questions that we know will stay unanswered and all this is just not fair. My brother didn't deserve to end like this and according to what I am hearing that my brother came out from where he was working, he went and was out with 2 friends, BDF colleagues, his co-workers. This happened to my brother when he was alone. I guess that the BDF [soldiers] should get questioned as to what really transpired that night

before and after. We just want answers so that we could lay my brother to rest. This is very hard, very difficult for all of us; my other 2 sisters and my other brother, his kids and his wife - this is very devastating news. We weren't expecting this when we got the call last night around 11-11:30pm. Its hard to accept that my brother is not here anymore."

Cho was married and the father of 5 kids. He had been a soldier for over 20 years. The circumstances that led to his death are still unclear.
