And from the Prime Minister back to UDP Leader Shyne Barrow says the government isn't doing enough about inflation. Now, we've told you how the government has met with retailers, and is now preparing to meet with importers to discuss price controls.

But, not surprisingly, Shyne isn't impressed - he says the impetus for inflation is in the high cost of fuel:

"Are you satisfied that government is doing its level best to deal with this inflation problem?"

"Absolutely not. The problem as to price gouging is merely a symptom. The actual disease is the highest cost of fuel ever. Their plan for economic development and GDP growth is taxes and the best way to tax the Belizean people is through fuel and blame it on a situation is Ukraine and Russia that is no longer having the impact that it was."
