Jared Ranguy - he's the 33 year old accused of murdering his mother, sister and Step-father inside their home on Marage Road, Ladyville in 2012. And 11 years later, he still hasn't gone to trial.
Well, now the judge in charge of his case, Ricardo Sandcroft has set a new trial date for June 26th, but, once again, Ranguy says he may need a new attorney.
Yesterday in a case management conference, Ranguy told the judge he had not spoken to his attorney of choice, from Godfrey Smith's Marine Parade Law Chambers, since his last court appearance. Justice Sandcroft told Ranguy that come June 26, 2023 whether his prefered attorney of choice is present in court or not, his trial will commence as the court will be appointing Senior Counsel, Simeon Sampson to represent him on that day.
Prosecutor, Senior Crown Council, Porsha Staine-Ferguson has indicated that she intends to call her 32 witnesses to the stand.
The trial against Ranguy is expected to last 2 weeks.
