And another woman was injured over this weekend but in this case, 26-year-old Rosalyn Ranguy survived being shot - for the second time.
14 years ago, she was hit in the ankle by a stray bullet when coming home from school. And on Friday night, she was shot again in the very same leg, in the same Lake I area.
Courtney Menzies visited her at her home where she is recovering and has this story.
In 2009 when Rosalyn Ranguy was only 12-years-old, she was shot in the leg one evening after school. Though it was a frightening experience, at that time, she - in the presence of her mother - spoke to our cameras and what happened.

"When me and my friend were walking yesterday evening. A boy just fly past me and after a little while I saw a next one behind him and I saw he hauled out a gun and he just started to shoot it at the next one and my leg started to burn me and when I looked at it, it was bleeding."
Fast forward over a decade later, she was shot again in the same leg, right below the original injury, as she was at the basketball court on Mckenzie Street - again in the Lake I area. This time, she spoke to us off-camera.

"Actually we were just sitting on the bleachers, me, my sister in law, my sister, watching my baby playing basketball and then I just heard a noise coming from underneath the bleachers in the dark and by the time I spun around, we saw two persons approach, it was dark, but you could see two people running so right away we start hear shots starting to buss so we tried to run but by the time I started to run, I fell down and it was then I noticed I got shot in my foot but the person I was basing on was my baby because my baby was out there and he is only three years old. And I was screaming out for him, yelling, where is my baby? I got shot and my sister was trying to help me but she couldn't lift me because I got heavy and she went and looked for my baby and it's like that my sister in law came and lifted me up and tried to get me in my cousin's van and that's how we went to the hospital."
Courtney Menzies:
"Can you think of reason why any of you might have been targeted?"
Voice of: Rosalyn Ranguy, Shooting Victim
"Well, I know nobody wants to target me, so I don't know, we were probably just at the wrong place at the wrong time. So we just ran for our lives."
"To be honest when my foot started to burn me, right away I was conscious that I got shot in my foot because it's the same experience that already happened to me already and I couldn't move, I was just yelling for someone to come help me because I couldn't run again or walk."
"I wasn't afraid or frightened because I knew it was only my foot, because if I was shot in my back or anything like how we were sitting on the bleachers, I would feel the burn in my back or anywhere else, it's just my foot I feel it and then I realized it's just my foot I got shot."
And though it's a very similar experience, she says the pain is not any easier.
Voice of: Rosalyn Ranguy, Shooting Victim
"Right now, it's just the pain, I can't really stand up on the foot or anything, I just have to sit down and leave the foot up on a pillow or so, I can't stand up on the foot because it's swollen, the whole foot got swollen and then I have to sit down back because it hurts bad, the pain isn't easy because the bullet just entered the back and came through the front by the ankle so I can't stand up on it."
"It's rough, everyday I just sit down, those two days, and sometimes I get frustrated and I just start cry because the pain unbearable sometimes that's why I try stay on the medication."
According to police, two persons have been detained, one of whom is a minor. They also stated there is an ongoing rivalry in that area, and at this time, they have not ascertained who the intended target was.
